Inside the Transition: Service

Getting our nation back on track is going to take all of us working together, and many Americans are eager to participate.

With Martin Luther King Jr. Day -- traditionally a national Day of Service -- right around the corner, the Transition's Service Team is hard at work finding new ways for people to get involved not just on that day but beyond. They're developing bold new volunteer initiatives for the Obama-Biden administration, including a dramatic expansion of national service programs like AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps, and the creation of new service organizations to address issues like education and health care.

We went inside the Transition so you could get to know a few members of the Service Team -- officially called the Innovation and Civil Society subgroup of the Technology, Innovation and Government Reform policy working group -- and see how they're approaching these issues.

Watch the video -- then take a moment to let us know that you're interested in serving.
